This book is really amazing, it talks about the history of tattoo like an essay. This is not just some tattooist from Rochdale who searched google all day and wrote a book, it is a legitimate textbook which wouldn't look out of place in any history class. There is really in depth, knowledgeable points made about how tattoo got to the point it is now and also a easy to follow timeline of events. With this I'll be able to learn more about how tattoo got to this stage and how I can take it further.
Vintage Tattoos picks up where 'Written on the Body' left off. Here tattoo culture in the 40's, 50's and 60's is mostly shown. It gives a more modern look at the culture and you can really see how modern tattoo has evolved from this. This is more relevant to my research because it is directly the era I am looking at.
