Hugh Kretschmer

Without even realizing it, I am a complete surrealist; everything I think about in my work and concepts I have all could've been picked straight out of the Surrealist Manifesto, which I read last night. In it Breton talks about finding the middle ground in arts between reality and dreams and causing an emotional response to works. Kretschmer does this in his photographs perfectly, above are the least surreal of his images which I prefer more. I find the banality in his work coupled with serious surrealism really well done, although some of his other photographs are a bit too surreal for me, I don't want to get into editing my images hugely, rather create images using as much naturally occurring circumstances.
